I've been a member of deviantART for seven years now, I joined up when I was still in school and had very limited internet access, Before I got a stable internet connection set up in my home. The reason I joined was due to sonic the hedgehog on the xbox 360 ( or sonic 06 ) since I was drawing things traditionally by hand and wanted to show them off to a community.
While I don't have the very first image I ever uploaded anymore I do have a close example of the stuff I use to do.
For a good few years I kept at the traditonal art, drawing all things sonic related before I attempt drawing transformers, Images from the G1, armada and animated series.
Again I kept at it and once I finally got an updated internet/WiFi device I joined up to xbox live, I started playing halo 3 online, followed by halo reach to which I started taking screenshots with effects which I also uploaded to DA
Again things were going well up until the laptop I was using at the time had a major failure of everything, it was literally dead, nothing could be done so I had to resort to using a netbook, Funny enough it was during that time that my friend
mentioned my little pony, Now at first I was like "Why are you watching that kinda show?" but he told me to check it out if I wanted and I did! and then a chain reaction happened, I started drawing ponies with the help of some now dear friends of mine, I even found the push I needed to get a graphics tablet and now....well I'll let the images show how far I've come.
And its not just ponies now! No no, just recently I've been trying new things that aren't pony related, such as anime and a more cartoony style of work which you can see below.
All in all deviantART has been a great place where I have grown as an artist, Met people who I've become great friends with, Had fallouts, make ups, Happy times and bad times, all a part of the process which has lead me to where I am now.
I will continue to post my work here and I plan to stay a member of deviantART for a very long time.
So Happy birthday DeviantART, I hope my story and many others show just how much you have helped us grow.
